![]() Here, told for the first time is the unfolding story of the Cheviot Hill Riders. Formed when the World was nought but a barren, desolate wasteland, the fathers of the Cheviot Hill Riders set forth into the unknown armed with only picks and spades. Their mission was to build themselves a playground worthy of rejoice. Their progress was slow and they had to endure years of hard-some toil. Starting with Wooler Common they soon began to take on the unenviable task of Whitsun Bank quarry, a pit infested with snakes, spiders and the deadly bunny rabbit. Working through the darkness each member drew motivation from a dream of a World with golden sunlight and Pear trees.
The coming of the following year saw the formation of an official race team, but this was only a shadow of things to come. 2005. Superlatives fail us here at CHR. This was the year Team-CHR went global. The team grew to ten riders, pulling in regular podiums both domestically and on the international circuit. The support of
Looking to 2006 the race team will have only six riders. What the rest of the year will hold is still shrouded in a cloud of deepest mystery. Of course CHR remains modest and unfaltering in their mission- to have unprecedented fun. With Club membership on the up every year and the Team-CHR race team taking on the worlds best, the future looks bright for CHR; both club and team. Those who kick started these chain of events, in no particular order are; Max Jaffa CHR, Drac CHR, Angry Beaver CHR and Death CHR. All remain involved today. All are still having fun.
